About Fourchette Culinary Academy

My love of cooking was instilled in me by my parents. Growing up I loved going to the library with my Dad and sister, choosing a new culture and learning about their cuisine, shopping for ingredients we had never heard of before and creating a wonderful (most of the time!) meal for the whole family. Those memories are priceless to me now. For as long as I can remember I have always loved cooking, whether it was baking dozens of Christmas cookies with my Mother or amazing multi-course dinners with my Dad.

For my career, I started in the kitchen at a young age by washing dishes. Over time I have worked through most areas in the kitchen and pursued my career with food since then. I have worked in summer camps, golf courses, large volume banquet facilities, nursing homes and fine dining establishments. In 2002 I graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming College with a diploma in Culinary Management. Since then, I have gone on to work extensively in business development, event planning, and sales, while always using the fundamental skills I learned through Culinary School.

I have found that in today’s fast paced world, many people have not learned to cook. Since I thought it would be fun to learn, Fourchette Culinary Academy was created to help people experience the joy of cooking and develop a true life skill. I want to share my love and passion for cooking with you. I want to help you create your own wonderful memories.  Let’s have fun cooking together!
